Lady Gaters Tryouts

Tryouts for Lady Gaters Basketball will be held Sunday January 26, 2020 for 4th-8th grade teams at Proehlifc Park in Greensboro. 4th-6th grade teams will try out from 10:00 - 11:15 and 7th-8th grade teams will try out from 11:15 - 12:30. Please arrive early and prepared!

Returning players: All returning players wishing to continue with the Organization are required to attend tryouts. If you have not previously registered on our web-site, please follow directions for new player below. Do not register if your players grade is not available under registration (would not appear if your player is already registered for that grade),

New players: We encourage new players to the organization to register on-line at least 3 days prior to tryouts. Registration is done from our website. Parents must create an an account and include their daughter as a participant. Options to register for "Girls Select Basketball" program should then be available (select the proper school grade using 2018-2019 school year). If your player is in 3rd grade, please register for 4th grade.

Player Commitment: Generally teams practice 2 nights a week and play in tournament (3-5 games) over the weekends. Scheduling of tournaments varies from team to team, but generally teams play at least 2 weekends out of a month, more during some months. The season generally goes from Mid February - early summer.

Financial Commitment: Costs associated with the spring/summer season includes a $360 fee charged to each player for practice facilities and a team fee to cover costs of tournaments, uniforms and equipment, etc. The team fee varies from team to team but is generally in the range of $250-$300. In addition, there are travel costs involved which again varies from team to team. Some financial assistance is available through the Lady Gaters Basketball Association.
